30 mins!

I ran 30 minutes! I RAN 30 mins! I ran 30 mins...30 mins straight btw, in case you were wondering :-P Yay, I feel great! Seriously, I can't believe I've made it so far in just 2 months. ^_^

I will confess though, I started flagging after the 20 min mark and took the rest at a slow jog... I think I may have started at too quick a pace. I've got that 5K in about 4 weeks and now that I've hit the 30 min mark I'm gonna try to sustain a quicker pace longer. I'm going to add 2 mins a day for the next three weeks (up to 45 mins or so) and after that I'm going to focus entirely on pacing. I hope that'll help my race time.

It's official!

I'm all signed up for the 2011 Disney Princess Half Marathon!!!! I can't wait! It now seems more real too so that's good... I'm in my 8th week of running and I ran for 20 mins straight Monday and 25 mins straight today! @_@ Once you get into the swing of it you don't really notice the time... Even today I didn't really drag until the final 5 mins or so. I'm gonna try for 30 mins on Fri and Sat but I won't be too hard on me if I don't make it all the way on Fri. Just as long as I go at least 25 again.

Progress continues...

I am actually in my 7th week of running and I am walking 1 minute and running 11 three times. I actually haven't been updating because of another personal milestone-I have been able to wake up at 5:15AM for almost 3 weeks. @_@ That is huge! I hate getting up early and I can't believe I'm keeping it up. :) Problem is I've been slacking off on doing kettlenetics since I wouldn't need to get up as early on those days so I haven't been getting up early at all... I'm thinking I'll just get up that early every M-F and just use the extra time to read or something...

I've also signed up for a 5K this August. A lot of people have told me it's best to do 1 or 2 smaller races before your first big one so you get a feel for what the environment is like. Plus it'll give me a goal to shoot for in the inbetween which will help keep me motivated. :D
